U.S. Coast Guard awards QSS International the Repair Rails for Tower Crane # 4 project at its Baltimore Yard. The purpose of this project is to repair and/replace components of Tower Crane #4’s rail system at the Coast Guard Yard. Remove and reinstall approximately 760 lf of Crane Rail
System. Place new 10,000-psi concrete grout with a bounding agent applied to the existing rail support system. Install all new steel bearing plates, bolts, rail clips, a new 135lb rail, and new concrete infill around the rails. All new concrete and new rails must be level to a 0-1/8” tolerance in the total elevation. The tolerance of each rail height across laterally and in width must be 0-1/8” (Drawing C/02). All concrete must have a slump test and a 7, 14, and 28-day break tests.

George Mason University awards QSS International Inc. the Hazel Hall Fire Alarm Replacement project at its Arlington Campus. The project is generally described as phased replacement of the fire alarm system at Hazel Hall. This project involves replacing the existing Simplex 4100U fire alarm system in Hazel Hall and providing new Siemens XLS system and Reprogram the existing Siemens XLS system in the adjoining Founders Hall to a general evacuation system. Currently the system is configured for selective evacuation. Test 100% of Founders Hall notification circuits.

U.S. Coast Guard awards QSS the CPOP Repair Roof & Reconfigure Berthing Areas & Replace HVAC at the Barracks/Exchange/MSO at USCG Baltimore Yard. Work involves is on an existing three-story Building 33 to include but not limited to Repair, peel-off and/or replace existing 16,490sf roofing and install new aluminum siding at selected walls; Clean and service existing Air Handler Units (AHU) and replace all existing Fan Coil Units (FCU) located at the 3rd Deck of Building 33 (attic space below roof); and, Perform interior renovation work to existing barracks rooms and toilets to reclaim floor space at existing wall chases.
