The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) awards the 8th Floor Headquarter Build-Out in Washington DC to QSSI

QSS International Inc (QSSI) has been awarded the 8th Floor Headquarter Build-Out project by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC).
The project consists of Interior Build-out of the partial space on the 8th Floor. The property is managed by Brookfield Properties. The work consists of Demolition, New Partitions, Doors, Frames, and Hardware, new Ceiling, Lighting system, Power and communication outlets, new finishes, millwork, life/safety devices, and HVAC systems.

BACKGROUND: USAC is a not-for-profit Delaware corporation. The FCC has appointed USAC as the permanent administrator of the Universal Service Fund (USF) and the universal service support mechanisms (Support Mechanisms): High Cost, Low Income, Rural Health Care (RHC) and Schools & Libraries (SL) as set forth in Title 47, Part 54, Section 701 of the Code of Federal Regulations. As part of its administrative function, USAC performs, subject to FCC oversight, the billing, collection, and disbursement functions associated with the USF and the Support Mechanisms.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission awards the SEC Corporate Restacking project in Washington DC for $1.3 Million to QSSI

QSS International Inc (QSSI) in association with Grunley Construction Company, Inc. has been awarded the SEC Corporate Restacking project contract by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

QSSI shall perform office space alterations in approximately 40,000 square feet of the two U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Station Place Headquarters buildings located in Washington D.C., known as “Station Place 1” (SP1) and “Station Place 2” (SP2). The square footages associated: SP1 consists of approximately 26,000 square feet and SP2 consists of approximately 14,000 square feet.

QSSI will demolish certain portions of the current office space and subsequently construct new office space. To meet the established program needs of the SEC, the “Restacking Project” will move approximately 1700 employees from their current office space in the SEC’s Station Place headquarters facilities into newly configured office space at the same location. The Station Place buildings are ten stories above grade with one level below grade in addition to sub-grade parking levels.

This project involved architectural and MEP demolition and complete renovation of the Facilities Management Office spaces, to include to new restrooms, offices, break room, HVAC & Electrical closet room(s), etc. The work involves, but not limited to: mechanical, lighting, finishes, architectural woodwork, ceiling replacement, storefront, glass & glazing, flooring, concrete, masonry, plumbing, fire alarm.
